NEC exhibits innovative public safety solutions and technologies at GovernmentWare 2017

Providing cities with enhanced safety and security measures

Singapore, 14 September 2017 – NEC Asia Pacific today announced its participation as a Gold sponsor at the 26th GovernmentWare (GovWare) conference and showcase, held together with the Singapore International Cyber Week, to highlight a variety of solutions and technologies to safeguard citizens and enterprises from growing security threats. The event is held from 19-21 September 2017 at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Cyber threats are getting more sophisticated and rising at an alarming rate globally, often incurring millions of dollars of recovery costs for governments and enterprises. NEC responds to the challenge with a powerful combination of physical and cyber security technologies that effectively manage exposure to cyber threats and protect critical infrastructure.

“With a heightened focus on public safety in the face of growing security threats, NEC delivers one of the world’s most effective systems that prevent and respond to cybersecurity incidents. We work collaboratively with governments and enterprises to make cities and businesses safer and smarter, thereby enhancing economic resilience,” said Tan Boon Chin, Managing Director, Global Safety Division, NEC Corporation.

The NEC booth (Booth# S13) features the following solutions:

  1. Cyber Security Factory @ APAC: NEC’s first dedicated Managed Security Service facility in Singapore. The facility offers a wide range of security services, including round the clock professional surveillance of networks and websites, forensic services for investigating malware sources and information leakage, and realistic team-based training for cyber defenders.
  2. NeoFace® Watch: A high performance face recognition software application for real-time video surveillance, offline video face search and high volume photo face search based on the world’s most accurate facial recognition technology*.
  3. NeoFace® Image data mining: This solution provides quick and accurate searches through large volumes of video data for persons who frequently appear at a specified time or location, allowing the search of various types of information including people flow, persons loitering in specific locations, persons staying at one location, and frequent contact between individuals.
  4. Liveness Detection: Real time facial recognition technology with the capability of determining if an image is a fake human face using a web camera.

Walter Lee, Evangelist & Government Relations Leader, Global Safety Division, NEC Corporation, will speak on “The Internet of Things IS the Internet of Threats” on 21 September, 1.20pm – 2.00pm (MR 324, Level 3).
