Singapore, 12 February 2009 - NEC Asia has unveiled the latest addition to its desktop projector range – the NEC NP500W. The NP500W brings wide-format functionality to NEC’s recently introduced projector series (NEC NP400, NP500 and NP600). Featuring an integrated 7W speaker, this WXGA projector has ultra-bright 3,000 ANSI lumens for perfect presentations even in the lightest of venues.
The NP500W has an extensive feature-set including remote network function, automatic keystone correction, AutoStart and Quick Power Off. The NP500W is also equipped with an EcoMode which enables the projector to be operated with maximum eco efficiency, therefore lowering operating cost and helping to prolong lamp life.
Whether used for presentations on the move or installed in a fixed location, the NP500W’s numerous automatic features mean that it’s very well equipped to handle almost any situation. Automatic vertical keystone correction and wall-colour correction functions provide flexibility from any location within a room, while the Quickstart function enables users to get up and running in only eight seconds from power up. Thanks to its Auto Input function, the projector automatically recognises the connected signal source. If the signal should be interrupted, the NP500W automatically switches itself off.
A particularly practical and cost-saving feature of the NP500W is its remote network monitoring and control. The projector’s free Control Utility software allows it to be centrally controlled via PC and offers a variety of timer functions and it even sends automatic email alerts in the unlikely event of any technical problems which makes for easier and predictable maintenance.
To ensure low cost of ownership, NEC has equipped the NP500W with a selection of energy-saving features. For example, lamp lifetime is up to 4,000 hours (in EcoMode) which reduces costs but also minimises waste. Alongside EcoMode, it also offers a special Power Save option, which allows additional power to be saved when in stand-by mode (3 Watts instead of 11 Watts). In this way, not only can users keep their TCO low, but they can also be more environmentally conscious in their use of energy and resources.
As with all models in the new NEC NP projector series, the NEC NP500W has also been equipped with the latest security features such as, for example, a Kensington lock connector and password protection. Additional protection is offered by the security bar which further secures the device against unauthorized access.
