NEC Asia appointed as technology solutions provider for Resorts World at Sentosa

Singapore, 23 February 2009 – NEC Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation (HQ Japan), has been appointed by Resorts World at Sentosa as the technology solutions provider for ticketing and admission system.

With a strong leadership in innovation and technology customization over the past 100 years, NEC Asia has been awarded the contract to set up the total solutions platform for the ticketing and admission flow of Universal Studios Singapore – Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park, which features 24 rides and attractions located within Resorts World at Sentosa.

This contract is worth some S$4m and has attracted 3 competing bids from multi-national consortiaums. Commencement and preparation work has already begun and the completed platform is due for a soft launch on the last quarter of 2009.
