NEC Asia Showcases its Latest Airline Security Boarding System (IDentiBoard) at Global Security Asia 2009
Singapore, March 17, 2009 – NEC Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation will showcase its latest Airline Security Boarding System at the Global Security Asia 2009.
NEC Airline Personalization Boarding (NEC IDentiBoard) is a seamless biometrics air travel system designed to help today’s airline industry to efficiently process passenger’s information. It is able to integrate into existing airport workflow system of check-in, clearing immigration and airline departure gate.
NEC IDentiBoard taps on NEC biometric solutions that offer world’s number one accuracy and speed for personal identification. The automation of a single or multi-modal biometrics recognition technology of NEC IDentiBoard leads to increased operational efficiency in flight boarding, as well as heighten airport security globally – both of which are of paramount concern in the airline industry and the world today.
At the Check-in counter, passenger will present his passports to the staff who will upload the passenger information into the airline ticket information database and process a boarding pass for the passenger. This passenger then presents his passport, fingerprints and/or facial images at the immigration clearance stage to be captured by the automated border control gate or normal manual immigration counter and stored into existing Immigration system. At the flight departure gate, passenger will then present his passport at automated biometric kiosk and verifications of his fingerprint and/or facial images will be done through multi-modal biometric authentication – which includes Passport Scanner, Camera and Fingerprint Scanner. There will be background processes to check from the Immigration system and the airline ticket information system to ensure it is the correct passenger boarding the flight at this time. After verification cleared, passenger will be allowed to board the plane.
