NEC Debuts PH1000U (11000 ANSI lumens) Projector for Professional Integration Projects
NEC PH1000U ProjectorSingapore, 28 February 2012 – NEC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, one of the leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the new PH1000U digital projector with unique 3-chip DLP system. This professional installation model can operate 24/7 and is designed for higher education, house of worship, corporate and retail environments where there is high ambient light or the need for a larger screen size.
Powered by a unique 3-chip 0.96” DLP system, the PH1000U is an 11,000 ANSI lumens WUXGA resolution projector featuring a sleek design that creates quality, larger-than-life images under virtually any operating condition to take on the most demanding integration projects. It is the second model in NEC’s projector lineup to offer Open Pluggable Specification (OPS), which is the first industry-wide standardization in option slots to simplify installation, use and maintenance while offering input flexibility. It supports multiple input cards, including an HD/SD-SDI and single board computer (SBC).
Input is handled via a wide array of connectivity options, including DisplayPort, HDMI and RGB connectors, as well as NEC’s Projector Viewer function. Thanks to a host of extended network and multimedia features, users are also able to stream content over the network from any Windows network drive and administrators can monitor and control these projectors through a wired connection or over an optional Wi-Fi module.
The Integrated Rigging and Stacking mount ensures that the PH Series can be installed and configured in a variety of ways to best suit the users requirements.
The PH1000U uses Integrated Device Technology HQV, a high-performance video processing and scaling system designed for computer signals, as well as standard or high-definition video. This technology produces superior video processing using pixelbased, motion-adaptive de-interlacing to remove undesirable motion artifacts typical of interlaced signal. The outcome is a life-like image, which is especially useful in video conferencing applications.

Its feature set allows the projector to be customized perfectly in each and every application.”
The PH Series units will be shipped without a lens, giving customers the option to select the lens best suited for their needs. There is a choice of five high-quality bayonet lenses supporting the memory lens function, which adjusts the lens position automatically and individually, according to the input signal or previous setting.
The PH1000U includes the following features:
- 11,000-lumen brightness
- 2000:1 contrast ratio (with dynamic contrast)
- 3-Chip DLP - 1920 x 1200 WUXGA native resolution
- Dual UHP lamps with lamp life up to 2500 hours in ECO Mode
- Open Pluggable Specification option slot including an HD/SD SDI input card and SBC
- Connectivity includes HDMI with HDCP, DisplayPort, three computer inputs, component and S-Video
- Stacking capability (up to 44,000 lumens with four projectors)
- Complete line of five bayonet-style lenses with powered zoom, focus and lens shift
- Lens Memory controls lens attributes (zoom, focus, shift) based on input resolution and input selection
- Windows Network Projector Function directly connects to networked projectors without the need for additional proprietary software
- Windows Remote Desktop Function allows the control of the projector with a keyboard and mouse through the USB input
- Windows Network Drive and Media Connection functions display multimedia files (.jpeg, .bmp, .png, .mpeg2 or .wmv9)
- Cornerstone correction helps display the image properly when the projector is set up at an angle to the screen
- Geometric correction allows the projector to display square-looking images on cylindrical, spherical or cornered screens
- Edge blending technology creates panoramic images with multiple projectors
- DICOM simulation
- PIP/side-by-side allows two sources to be displayed on the screen at one time
- Carbon savings meter calculates the positive effects of operating the projector in ECO Mode, which is encouraged by an optional message at startup
- Security with lens anti-theft screw, cabinet control lock, logo lock and password protection
- Email notifications to inform the system administrator when the projector’s lamp is approaching the end of its useful life
