NEC Launches Certified Verticore Series(TM) SAP(R) Business All-in-One Solution for Midsize Companies in Asia Pacific

Tokyo, March 25, 2009 - NEC Corporation today announced the sales launch of its Verticore Series(TM*1) solution designed for midsize companies in the Asia Pacific market(*2), built under SAP Best Practices(R) for the SAP(R) Business All-in-One solution. Sales of the solution will be supported by joint marketing and promotional activities between SAP and NEC.

The Verticore Series was developed to strengthen the business process management of midsize companies looking to expand their business in the Asian Pacific region. In addition to addressing key business processes through the SAP solution, the Verticore Series also addresses the following key challenges for companies expanding internationally:

• Establishment of an international management foundation
• Visualization of the best processes for international activities
• Standardization of an international IT foundation

The Verticore Series, available in English and Chinese, is particularly well suited for the Asian market and is adapted for regional law, taxation and currency specifications. Furthermore, the Verticore Series may be implemented quickly and at a lower cost to the customer. The solution is currently available for the industrial machinery, high-tech and consumer goods industries and will be expanded to cover retail, chemistry and others. NEC is expecting to provide approximately 100 of the new systems within the next three years.

Looking forward, NEC aims to utilize this cooperative business agreement to leverage NEC subsidiaries as sales windows within their respective territories; working closely with SAP to increase the sales of SAP related solutions in Asia Pacific markets. “We look forward to our continued work with NEC in Asia Pacific,” said Tom Kindermans, Senior Vice President, SME, SAP Asia Pacific Japan. “Together, we are bringing real value to small businesses and midsize companies; helping them run their businesses better, increases their efficiency and most importantly, cut their operating costs.”

In February 2008, NEC and SAP solidified their partnership by agreeing to jointly develop, market and sell new innovative solutions on a global scale. Today’s announcement represents an advanced new product that traces its roots from this agreement.

NEC will continue to collaborate with SAP to pursue the joint development of products and services that meet the diverse needs of a customer base that reaches throughout the world.
