Thailand, 11 May 2009 – NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd., a subsidiary of NEC Corporation based in Thailand, announced today that Mr Shin Sakamoto has been appointed as its new President.
Mr Sakamoto joined NEC Corporation in April 1982 after his graduation. He devoted some 27 years of his career life managing the sales and business development of Global Carrier Network solutions, as well as managing the operation and office/division. Mr Sakamoto’s ample work experience spans from NEC HQ in Japan, to Saudi Arabia and Thailand. Prior to joining NEC Thailand as the new President, Mr Sakamoto was the Department Manager responsible for International Carrier Sales and Marketing Division (HQ).
Thrilled by the challenging new task of heading the Thailand subsidiary, Mr Sakamoto says, “Having spent more than seven years in Thailand as the Chief Representative of Bangkok Liaison Office, I am looking forward to this challenging appointment. I know I can count on my people from this warm and friendly nation and I’m sure we’ll be striving as one entity towards empowering the lives of Thailand population with innovations from NEC.”
On business strategy for NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd., Mr Sakamoto says “We have a very well balanced business portfolio, covering IT and Network solutions for both carrier and enterprise users. Through the synergy of IT and Network, I believe that we can create new value to our customers. I would like to enhance the service level to the customers and reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) to facilitate the customer’s IT investment.”
Mr Sakamoto succeeds Mr Fumiaki Yamada, who has been the President for NEC Thailand since 2006. Mr Yamada will assume the position of Managing Director of NEC Hong Kong.
