NEC and IEC signs letter of understanding

Kathmandu, Nepal, 14 August 2009 – NEC Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has officially appointed International Electronics Concern (IEC) as its official distributor for all server solutions in Nepal at its one-day seminar, product launch and press conference held in Kathmandu today.

Mr David Ooi, NEC Asia’s Regional Director, and, Mr Shyam Bahadur Shrestha, IEC’s Executive Director, sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to seal the alliance.

“NEC has been one of the market leaders with a history of more than 100 years. With a comprehensive product portfolio that encompasses super computers, servers and thin clients systems, and an edge in integrating both network and IT solutions, NEC is confident of meeting the needs of the Nepalese businesses”, said Mr David Ooi, NEC Asia’s Regional Director.

“We are very excited to NW/solutions be awarded this significant distribution rights and given the opportunity to bring NEC IT platform solutions to Nepal,” added Mr Shrestha.

In the same way NEC launches the NEC Express5800/iModel servers which feature 1U rack optimized size with dedicated DC use design including energy efficient architecture.

Simultaneously, another featured server is the NEC Express5800/ft series which are created to deliver optimum reliability and operational flexibility. This intel Architecture-based series of server enable continual operation through a hardware failure and delivers exceptional availability, which is made possible by using the Dual-Modular Redundancy architecture. The NEC Express5800/ft servers feature the Gemini Engine chipset as well.

Another company of NEC, Decillion Group announces that it is extending its successful franchise of Service platform including SWIFT Service Bureau and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Filtering, as well as their 'Best of Breed' solutions, such as Modular Automated Processing (MAP) Systems and Signature Inquiry Systems (SIS), to Nepal.

Decillion Group currently operates two SWIFT Service Bureau with users from more than 70 banks and financial institutions and over 15 countries in Asia Pacific Region, providing Swift connectivity, automation, intergration services and related banking solutions on a software as a Service (Saas) platform.
