Tokyo, December 21, 2009 - NEC Corporation (NEC) today announced the December 22, 2009 establishment of NEC CASIO Mobile Communications, Ltd., in preparation for the scheduled integration of the business functions of NEC's Mobile Terminal Operations Unit and Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. (CHMC) in April 2010. Furthermore, Koji Yamasaki (current associate senior vice president, Mobile Terminals Operations Unit, NEC) will become president of the new company.
About the Business Integration
December 2009: Establishment of a 100% NEC subsidiary
April 2010: NEC's mobile handset business is absorbed by the new subsidiary company
Same day: Procedures begin for the new subsidiary company, as the integration's surviving company, to absorb the business functions of CHMC
Koji Yamasaki shall remain president of the new subsidiary company following the absorption and dissolution of CHMC.
