SINGAPORE, 23 May 2012 – NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) is participating in the 7th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly Conference & Exhibition held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 22 – 25 May 2012. Themed “We Make Airports Safer”, NEC’s cutting-edge aviation technologies and solutions aimed at assisting airport operators and airline agencies worldwide transform and safeguard airports, will be unveiled for the first time in Asia Pacific at this event.
1. NEC IDentiBoard® – Reinventing airline boarding security
NEC’s IDentiBoard® is a system designed to provide secured, fast and seamless processing of passengers’ details from check-in, immigration clearance, airport security to boarding, using fully automated uni- or multi-modal biometrics recognition technologies to improve the overall passenger boarding process. This system provides personalized boarding ID, speeds up clearance and improves security at the airport, thereby increasing operational efficiency for flight boarding.
2. Flight Information Display System – providing essential real-time information
Based on the concept of a user-friendly design, NEC’s Flight Information Display System (FIDS) provides instantaneous information related to flights, airport operations and other general topics that may matter to passengers and airport staff. Japan’s Haneda International Airport has implemented 450 units of FIDS and 20 units of 65-inch digital signage at its premises since October 2010, providing important travel-related information in real-time.
