The project is part of NEC New Zealand’s on-going Corporate Social Responsibility program and will allow for cultural exchanges between students in New Zealand and Japan in real time through the installation of ‘Live Skype Windows’.
These video conferencing suites enable international ‘Live Skype Windows’ connections through NEC’s 46-inch commercial grade LED screens which are designed for low power consumption and longer life span, enabling low long-term costs. The students will enjoy the benefits of built-in speakers, full HD webcams, and permanent high-quality video conferencing links to facilitate their exposure to cultural diversity.
“Having marked over 50 years of business in New Zealand recently, we are honored to contribute to this project through our Social Corporate Responsibility program. The conferencing technology is a great catalyst for better cross-cultural understanding and development, enabling students to establish virtual friendships through daily interaction,” said Mr. Leonard Dench, Managing Director, NEC New Zealand.
The Lower Hutt - Minoh City Conferencing Link Project has established three permanent conferencing suites between Epuni Primary School (Lower Hutt) and Todoromi No Mori Gakuen (Minoh); Tui Glen School (Stokes Valley) and Saito No Oka Gakuen (Minoh); and Lower Hutt War Memorial Library with the Multicultural Centre in Minoh.
