Satellite Earth Station, Sentosa, Singapore

NEC launched its first Satellite Earth Station in Sentosa, Singapore, marking a milestone in telecom infrastructure

First to deploy satellite earth stations in Sentosa.

1977

Established NEC Singapore Pte Ltd.

1988

NEC SX3 Supercomputer, Singapore

NEC introduced the SX3 Supercomputer in Singapore, advancing high-performance computing in the region

Installed first NEC Supercomputer in Singapore.

1991

Introduced biometrics technology to Singapore for the country's NRIC project.

1996

Installed Auto Clearance System for Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (formally known as Customs & Excise Department).

2003

First recipient of International Headquarters Award presented by Singapore Economic Development Board.

Renamed NEC Solutions Asia Pacific (NECSAP).

2004

Acquired Decillion Solutions Pte Ltd to provide banking applications.

2005

iFAST for Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore

NEC deployed iFAST system to streamline food safety and veterinary inspection processes in Singapore

Implemented the Integrated Food Assessment & Safety Testing System (iFAST) for Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore.

Set up National RFID lab at Republic Polytechnic.

Implemented biometric passport project for Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.

Introduced e-passport to Thailand's Consular Affairs Department.

Implemented the health biometric ID smartcard for Vietnam's Social Security Health Insurance.

Launched NEC Managed Services & Outsourcing Centre South East Asia Hub in Singapore.

2006

Opened regional offices in Vietnam and India.

Launched e-Kiosk project for National Library Board.

Collaborated with Singapore's Institute of Technical Education to launch 'live' Converged IP Training Centre.

2007

Celebrated NEC's 30th anniversary in Singapore.

Installed Biometric Identification for Motorbikers (Bikes) for Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.

Implemented RFID boarding pass at Singapore Cruise Centre's Harbourfront and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

Implemented Business Intelligence Management System at Isetan Singapore.

Launched machine readable passport project with Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs.

Implemented biometric passport project for Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.

Consolidation of NECSAP and NEC Business Coordination Centre (Singapore) to form NEC Asia Pte Ltd.

2008

Launched "RP-NEC RFID@NEC Competency Centre" at Republic Polytechnic.

Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World, Sentosa

NEC provided integrated ICT solutions to enhance operations at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa

Allied with Gateway Ticketing Systems to provide ticketing and admission solution to Universal Studios Singapore in Resorts World at Sentosa.

2010

Employment Pass Services Centre, EPSC, Singapore

NEC supported ICA Singapore with technology infrastructure for the Employment Pass Services Centre

Implemented NEC’s fingerprint biometric identification solutions at the new Employment Pass Services Centre (EPSC) under the Singapore Ministry of Manpower.

Partnered with Gateway Ticketing Systems to provide ticketing and admission solution to Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

NEC Asia renamed as NEC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.

2014

Telematics System, SMRT Corporation, Singapore

NEC implemented telematics and fleet monitoring solutions for SMRT Corporation’s public transport network

Implemented first telematics system in Singapore to monitor bus drivers’ driving behaviour for SMRT Corporation to enhance bus service excellence.

2016

SMRT Buses Ltd, Woodlands, Singapore

NEC enhanced operational efficiency for SMRT Buses with intelligent transport and tracking technologies

Implemented a suite of innovative technologies for SMRT Buses Ltd at the Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange.

NEC marked 40 years of innovation and growth in Singapore’s technology landscape

Celebrated NEC's 40th anniversary in Singapore.

2018

Point-Of-Sale Solutions, Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore

NEC implemented advanced POS systems for retail operations at Jewel Changi Airport

Awarded project to provide Point-Of-Sale Solutions to all retail shops in Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore.
