Singapore, 11 September 2007 – NEC Solutions Asia Pacific presents the flagship of its professional projector range in the form of the NP4000. The unit is designed as an installation projector for applications with strong lighting requirements and impresses with outstanding performance in continuous use. The new single chip DLP projector has two lamps and can be operated flexibly both in single-lamp or dual-lamp mode. With its two 260-watt light sources, it produces a light output of 5,200 ANSI lumens. Several NEC NP4000s can be mounted above one another for use in large, bright rooms - a light intensity of up to 10,400 ANSI lumens can be achieved when using two units together.

The high-quality projector, which is mainly suitable for installations, impresses with numerous features, an optimised presentation quality and improved handling. NEC offers five changeable lenses for the stackable high-performance projector. The lenses come with bayonet connector for different projection distances, they are quick and easy to change and allow a magnification of 0.8 - 8.3:1.

Using a motorised lens shift, the image can be aligned on the screen by up to 10% horizontally and up to 50% vertically. Focusing and zoom setting can also be controlled automatically. The NP4000 incorporates advanced video processing with BrilliantColor from Texas Instruments to deliver exceptional picture management control for both progressive and interlaced sources while making images more vibrant, colors more realistic and blacks richer with detail. At the same time, DynamicBlack monitors the incoming video content and dynamically adjusts the contrast ratio to optimize picture quality for each video frame. Additionally, the NP4000 features user-changeable color wheels with four segments for full brightness or optional six segments for superior color fidelity.

The NP4000 provides integrated networking and asset management features making it the perfect choice for demanding installations. Its RJ45 connection allows for quick hook-up to the LAN (10/100 base-T capability), while remote diagnostics enable the user to monitor and make adjustments to the projector via the network from a remote location.

Along with extended use operation, the NP4000 incorporates a number of built-in methods to extend the life of the projector and decrease its total cost of ownership. NEC’s Eco- Mode technology increases lamp life by up to 25 percent while its lamp saver feature enables the cooling fan to continue running even after the power source is disconnected. The Direct Power Off function also protects the lamp if the projector is accidentally unplugged or the power strip is switched off.
