Singapore, 22 April, 2015 – NEC Asia Pacific has launched four additions to its UM Series of ultra-short-throw LCD projectors in response to the growing need for better collaboration and greater interactivity in schools and the workplace.
The new products, UM301W, UM301X, UM351W and UM361X, offer significant improvements in terms of performance and cost of ownership compared to earlier models. They continue to eliminate shadow and glare and have brighter, more dynamic images, with up to 3600 ANSI lumens brightness. They also eliminate the need for external audio systems with an integrated 20W speaker, which improves audio performance by 25 per cent compared to earlier models.
A key highlight for the new models are the table top projection capabilities, which transforms desktop or meeting tables to interactive tables. Set-up of the products is quick and easy thanks to auto-calibration, horizontal and vertical keystone correction. Multi-Pen and Multi-Touch Interactivity features are also available for all the models. The optional NP03Wi Multi-Pen Kit and NP01TM Multi-Touch Kit can be added, turning the UM Series projector into an interactive whiteboard solution that works on any surface.
Interactive solutions are also accompanied by a free DisplayNote NEC-edition with 5 connection license. DisplayNote allows the user to not only highlight and annotate, but also present from a mobile device. The multi-user license enables truly collaborative scenarios using Windows, MAC, iOS and Android devices. The projectors come with two HDMI inputs, one of them supporting MHL, making it easy for presenters to connect their smart devices to the projectors and to use multiple digital sources.
Today’s schools are continuously looking for ways to improve the quality of education and learning experience through more interactivity and engagement among students and teachers. Equally, businesses need greater collaboration with stakeholders to improve productivity, reduce costs and gain competitive advantage. The solutions accompanying NEC’s UM Series projectors truly enhance the interactivity possible between both people and mobile devices. Schools and businesses get a flexible and scalable solution which fits small meeting rooms as well as collaborative environments.
The UM Series projectors are in line with NEC’s Green policy offering a longer lamp life and, together with lower power consumption and the low maintenance design, a minimized total cost of ownership.
