NEC to showcase next generation safety and security technologies at GovernmentWare 2018
Powering the Internet of Identities with integrated cyber-physical security
Singapore, 12 September 2018 – NEC Asia Pacific today announced its participation at the 28th GovernmentWare (GovWare) conference and showcase, held together with the Singapore International Cyber Week, at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre from 18-20 September 2018.
As governments around the world explore Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to make cities smarter, a key concern is how to ensure that commercial transactions and government services can be further enhanced to make the process seamless and more secure.
It is also the IoT that is driving the integration of the cyber and physical state. A digital identity, based on biometric elements for authentication, is the foundation that will define the fabric of public safety in future societies.
“Cyber attacks continue to make global headlines, and the harsh reality is that they are constantly evolving to keep pace with the times. With a combination of technology, experience and experts, NEC is capable of providing customers with multi-layered security solutions in the cyber and physical realms in order to forge a trusted and open cyberspace for public and private enterprises,” said Tan Boon Chin, Managing Director, Global Safety Division, NEC Corporation.
The NEC booth (Booth#M13) features the following solutions:
- Mobile Authenticator: Using machine learning and NEC’s “Liveness Detection” technology, NEC enables a smarter way for Digital ID login to e-government or online web services using facial recognition technologies. Being software based, our AI solution is able to perform on multiple platforms across different applications.
- NeoFace Image data mining: Providing quick and accurate searches through large volumes of video data for persons who frequently appear at a specified time or location, allowing the search of various types of information, including people flow, persons loitering in specific locations, persons staying at one location, and frequent contact between individuals.
- Access Control (Gate): Using NEC’s high performance facial recognition to cross-match and authenticate identities at immigration checkpoints or building access gates without physical items such as passports or tokens.
- Cyber Security: A range of cyber security solutions, including training capabilities.
Walter Lee, Evangelist & Government Relations Leader, Global Safety Division, NEC Corporation, will speak on “AI for Next Generation Cyber Defense” on 20 September, 10.00am – 11.40am (MR300 - 302, Level 3).
