Singapore, 21 April 2020 – NEC Asia Pacific (NEC APAC), the regional headquarters for NEC Corporation in Southeast Asia, announced the appointment of Mr. Koichiro Koide as President and CEO, effective today, 21 April 2020.

Since joining NEC in 1990, Mr. Koide has held various managerial positions in international sales, business operations and business development roles. This includes his stints as Managing Director of NEC India and General Manager of Greater China and Asia Pacific Division, NEC Corporation.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Koide had been General Manager, Market Development Division, NEC Corporation, where he oversaw emerging markets, including the Middle East, Africa, and Russia, and led NEC’s new business development efforts across multiple countries.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Koide said, "I am honoured to be appointed as NEC APAC’s new President and CEO. With digitalisation fast becoming the norm, I am privileged to be able to lead and support our diverse teams across Southeast Asia in bringing innovative solutions to our customers. I look forward to meeting all our stakeholders in the coming months and expanding our existing partnerships.”

With this appointment, Mr. Tetsuro Akagi, former President and CEO, NEC APAC, will be moving back to NEC Corporation in Japan for his next assignment.
