Session 4 MULTIMODAL SENSING FOR REAL WORLD UNDERSTANDING Visual monitoring through CCTV systems remains as one of the best ways to understand situations on the ground, because video footages can be understood easily by humans, which is why they have been used for decades and will continue to be used for years to come. In recent years, AI and Video Analytics technologies are incorporated both at the cameras and backend processing units to automatically detect things and events, and generate alerts for human to take actions. But Video-only solutions have its limitations, so additional modes of sensing is often needed together to form an integrated picture of the ground situation. Speaker:

Session 5 BUILDING SUSTAINABLE RETAIL BUSINESS COVID-19 created an upheaval of sorts in retail, with many brick-and-mortar retail outlets going bust or being forced to reinvent their operational models towards e-commerce. It remains to be seen if post-pandemic, store-based retail will make a comeback. Attend this workshop to get a glimpse into what’s possible and how retailers can safeguard their resilience in these uncertain times. Speaker:

Session 6 EXPLAINABLE AI Explainability is the bridge to realising the full potential of AI-powered decision making. In many areas, human beings are holding back from deploying AI models because they do not yet trust it. That is partly because with innovations such as “black box” AI, even the scientists who created them are unable to explain how results are arrived at. With explainable AI, the complexity of AI-driven decision-making is ‘decrypted’ into formats understandable to humans. At this workshop, we will explain further. Speakers:
